At Wesco Anixter NZ, environmental sustainability is a key focus for us. As a distributor, we recognise our responsibility to ensure our company is prioritising environmentally friendly practices. Through our ongoing development of comprehensive sustainability initiatives, we strive to minimise our impact on the planet and inspire positive change throughout the supply chain.
We have taken significant steps to make a real difference, some of the initiatives led by our sustainability committee include:
- E-waste bins in all locations to ensure proper disposal of electronic waste
- A comprehensive new bin rollout for separating recycling, general waste, and organic waste
- Transition to compostable coffee cups and lids from Green Choice NZ
- Working with vendors to utilise cardboard packaging instead of Polystyrene/Styrofoam
- Integrating lighting and HVAC systems with our Integriti access control system for better energy management
To further formalise and guide our sustainability efforts, we have partnered with Toitū Envirocare to work towards our bronze sustainability certification. We're excited about this journey and committed to making a positive environmental impact.
